WATCH: Tropical Storm Eloise wreaks havoc in Mpumalanga

The effects of tropical storm Eloise were felt in many parts of northeastern South Africa, with places like Lydenburg receiving heavy rainfall.

Cyclone Eloise made landfall in the Mozambican coastal province of Sofala over the weekend, causing wide-spread flooding and leaving nearly 7,000 people homeless.
South Africa has not been spared the effects of the storm with Limpopo, Mpumalanga, and KwaZulu-Natal being extensively affected, also experiencing extensive flooding and damage to structures.

Videos and pictures showing the aftermath of the downpour have been shared on social media. One of the viral videos shows homes being flooded and residents trying to save their valuables.
