Bongani Baloyi talks about his move to Action SA

Former Midvaal mayor Bongani Baloyi has jumped ship to join Action SA after resigning from the Democratic Alliance (DA) last December.

In 2013, Bongani Baloyi made history when he became executive mayor of Midvaal Local Municipality, marking him as the youngest mayor in South Africa.

For five consecutive years, Midvaal Local Municipality has been the only municipality in Gauteng to receive a clean audit.
In December 2021, Baloyi left the opposition party (DA) after a successful stint in local government.

At the time of his resignation, Baloyi denied any bad blood between him and party leadership, adding that leaving the party was on his own accord.
In January 2022, Baloyi announced that he had joined Action SA.
Baloyi visited the Scenic Drive with Rian to talk about his move to Action SA after his successful run as mayor in Midvaal.
