Top Forensic Psychologist Dr Gérard Labuschagne talks to Rian van Heerden about what it takes to make it in his industry.

Dr Gérard Labuschagne led the Investigative Psychology Section of the South African Police Service (SAPS) from 2001 until 2016. In his time there, Gérard worked on over 300 serial murder and rape cases.
One of Gérard's most high-profile cases was the Oscar Pistorius investigation.
Gérard used his training as a Clinical Psychologist to understand the behaviour of criminals and help the SAPS solve very important cases. Upon his retirement from SAPS, Gérard described his time with the police as "an integral part of his identity".
