The Year Of The Nurse! Karl Bremer Hospital nurses made a video of them dancing to celebrate themselves and their hard work fighting COVID-19.

The coronavirus pandemic is a simple reminder of the vital role and contributions nurses play in society.
May 12 was chosen to celebrate International Nurses Day, as it is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Nurses have always been at the forefront of fighting epidemics and pandemics - providing high quality and respectful treatment and care. They are often the first and sometimes the only health professional that people see.
Without nurses and other health workers, we will not win the battle against outbreaks such as Covid-19.

A video of the Karl Bremer Hospital nurses was recently widely shared on social media. They were dancing to the South African hit song 'Jerusalema' by Master KG.
In the video, the nurses dance in the aisles of the hospital and at the end of the video, they all dance around a big poster that says, '2020 The Year Of The Nurse'.
