Sheldon and Django, the explosive sniffer dog reunited
Updated | By Bronwyn Hardick

In 2011 Sheldon Holland from Pietermaritzburg was an American K9 explosives handler and had been paired with the German Shepard in Kandahar, Afghanistan where the duo formed an unbreakable bond.
Working side-by-side for 18 months, the two became inseparable and when Holland finished his contract with the AMK9 unit, Holland arrived back in Pietermaritzburg while his best friend remained in Afghanistan; however, he promised his companion that they would one day live together and that he would take his pooch for a run on SA beaches.
“I told you I was coming to get you. I told you my boy.”
After a two-year long quest of trying to get his dog home to where he belongs, Sheldon Holland and Django are finally reunited!
Having voiced that his biggest fear was that Django would not recognise him, watch what happened as he was released from his leash and saw Sheldon for the first time in two years.
