Father with dementia singing with son helps raise funds for charity

A touching video of a father with dementia singing in a car with his son has goes viral, helping raise thousands of pounds for charity.

The two did their own version of carpool karaoke, singing 'Quando, Quando, Quando' while driving around Blackburn, UK. According to the video description, the father – Ted McDermott, who used to work as an entertainer, earned the nickname ‘The Songaminute Man’ because of the many tracks he knows off by heart.
He was diagnosed with dementia in 2013. "I really wanted to make a recording for myself really, and for the rest of the family. So if that date comes when he can't remember any of the words, we've still got him," his son, Simon, told Sky News.
But then he took the videos a step further, by using them to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Society. "I wanted to give something back to the Alzheimer's Society, because they really helped me in quite a bad time, and I thought if put a link to Just Giving, we might be able to raise a bit of money for them," he told the publication. To date, tens of thousands of pounds have been raised for dementia, thanks to the carpool karaoke.
