Good Samaritan rescues fluffy ducklings from open drain
Updated | By The Workzone with Barney Simon
What do you do when you spot a brood of ducklings stuck in a drain? Jump in and rescue them, of course!

On a regular day in Downtown Memphis, Shara Fenell did not expect to find herself performing an heroic act to benefit nature. But that is exactly what happened when on a walk near the Peabody Hotel, Shara heard a mother duck quacking in distress near a storm drain.
Shara realised that the mother had lost her ducklings down the drain, and immediately planned to help her.
WREG News shared a video of Shara bravely jumping into the drain to rescue several stranded ducklings. She gently cups each one and lifts it out to safety.

The ducks are most likely residents of the Peabody, which has a number of waterfowl living on its premises.
The mother duck was nowhere near the drain at the time, possibly because she feared falling in herself, but as soon as she has all eight of her babies back safely, they waddle away together.
