This hair freezing competition is insane
Updated | By Poelano Malema

Many of us would rather have our hair wrapped up or covered in a scarf on a cold day, but not these Canadians. For them, cold weather presents an opportunity to freeze your hair and win yourself some cash, thanks to The International Hair Freezing Contest in Yukon, Canada.
The competition encourages contestants to ‘create the most creative frozen hairdos possible’ and share the photos, in a bid to win up to $750 (about R9,800).
And just how do you freeze your hair?
According to The International Hair Freezing Contest's website, “you soak in the hot springs and allow the steam to accumulate on your head while the cold air freezes your hair. After the hair is frozen and molded (when possible), you take pictures.”
One thing is for sure, this competition is not for the faint-hearted because it takes many hours to freeze your hair.
See some of the frozen hair dos below. They will cause you to shiver!
