Pouring molten salt into fruits is simply explosive
Updated | By Poelano Malema
The internet is going crazy over a video showing what happens when you pour molten salt over watermelons and coconuts - as the results are pretty explosive.

Although we do not encourage that you try this experiment at home, it seems molten salt (regular table salt heated up between 260° and 550° Celsius) can be used as an explosive to destroy just about anything. This was first brought to our attention by TheBackyardScientist, who first blew up a fish tank by pouring molten salt into it.
“Ever since I poured molten salt into a fish tank and it exploded, I was wondering what else can we blow up with it, so I’ve got a wheelbarrow full of fruit behind me. Let’s see what I can blow up with molten salt,” he said in his latest YouTube video.
The experiment starts with pouring the molten salt over a coconut. The results were quiet incredible.
“That was a way bigger explosion than I thought,” he says reacting to the coconut explosion.
But then things got messier when he poured the molten salt on a watermelon. The watermelon gets completely destroyed and splashed all over his lawn.
Watch the explosion below.
