Tom Petty has reportedly passed away at the age of 66

The iconic lead signer of the Heartbreakers has passed away at 66 years old.

According to TMZ Petty was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest at his Malibu home Sunday night and rushed to the hospital and placed on life support.
There are a number of mixed reports on the singers passing, however a number of well known news publications have published the news. CBS News ran a story saying 'Tom Petty, the rocker best known as the frontman of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, is dead at 66, CBS News has confirmed.'
Other publications are saying that he is still clinging to life support.
Tom who was famous for being the lead singer of the Heartbreakers then broke out of the band and had a successful solo career with hits such as 'Free falling' and 'Learning to Fly'.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers recently completed a summer tour last Monday with three nights at the Hollywood Bowl.
