Baby shower guests left shocked by mother's misshaped baby bump

A mother from Brisbane, Australia, has gone viral for showing up to her baby shower without a key ingredient: her baby. 

Neomai, the new mother, was full of smiles as she walked into the baby shower venue to greet friends and family. While some of her loved ones knew the reason behind her giggles, others were dumbfounded by her weirdly shaped baby bump. 

After greeting some of her guests, she put them out of their misery and revealed her big secret. 

Neomai pulled out her badly wrapped fake baby bump from a balloon and a shawl.

She wrote, "I only told my very intimate family and a few friends! It was so funny how I knew I wouldn’t make my baby shower! But the show must go on! I was exhausted after this, but I was so blessed to be celebrating my baby girl, with or without my baby bump!"

In case you were confused, Neomai gave birth to her baby girl, Mila, two days before the baby shower. 

She didn't want to disappoint her guests, so she arrived at the baby shower with a fake baby bump. Guests were overcome with shock but in a pleasant, jovial way after she removed the balloon wrapped in a shawl from where her baby bump used to be. 

Call it what you will, but little Mila has so much to look forward to with her mother, who is totally capable of pulling off a prank.
