A birthday cake that's not for the fainthearted
You've got to love people's imaginative creations in the world of confectionary.
Birthday cakes are traditionally made to celebrate someone's special day. While cakes might be a key to celebrations, they are no longer basic or ordinary.
Where cakes are usually part of the celebration, they have now become the celebration, thanks to their elaborate and intricate designs, taste, themes, and more.
Cutting the birthday cake, for instance, has become more theatrical than anything. Perhaps we can blame Buddy Valastro, the illustrious Cake Boss, for encouraging bakers to go above and beyond in their cake designs.
A video that got us wondering about the limitations of cake designs almost left this birthday woman gagging.
In the video, we see the young woman in celebration mode wearing her birthday hat and lighting up a cake with a questionable design. The cake is shaped like a pup about to poop.
The person taking the video instructs the woman to light the backside of the cake. The woman lights it up, and the cake flares. When it fizzles out, the woman looks at the camera with raised eyebrows, wondering what's next.
She then shrieks after seeing the aftermath of the fire...She looked more shocked than pleasantly surprised.
