While many awareness campaigns exist in South Africa around Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), not everyone understands what living with ADHD entails.

According to the South African Government website, ADHD is one of the most common childhood brain disorders and can continue through adolescence and adulthood. "Symptoms include difficulty staying focused and paying attention, controlling behaviour, and hyperactivity (over-activity)," the website reads.

What we have appreciated, though, is the way people living with ADHD have embraced social media to normalise the way people see their condition.

A content creator has made it his mission to share fun videos about living with ADHD.

Vincent often shares videos on his Instagram page, @adhd_memes_you_can_relate, that resonate with people living with ADHD/ASD/Neurodivergence. He uses humour to raise awareness, knowing how challenging life with these conditions can be.

He was diagnosed with ADHD at 27-years-old and over the past two years, he has been trying to understand the differences between being neurodivergent and neurotypical and how it affects him and his surroundings daily.

His aim for sharing his content is simple: to create a space where people with ADHD can laugh together, have serious conversations, and support one another.

Check out one of his videos from Instagram that details what happens when someone with ADHD starts a hobby.
