Crocodile wors anyone? A popular meat choice for many in SA

Would Crocodile Dundee give the thumbs up to crocodile wors?

Crocodile meat is much more popular than most South Africans think.
Many people were surprised when a video was shared on social media showing a shopper going through parcels of crocodile meat and wors. The video was from 2024 but was shared just over a week ago.
The crocodile wors was priced at R68.76, while the crocodile meat parcel was priced at R48.89. Not a bad price, considering the cost of meat these days.

According to Tindlovu, crocodile meat is deeply rooted in South Africa’s culinary history.
"Generations back, people across the continent discovered that crocodile meat was a good source of protein and relatively easy to preserve, especially when smoked or dried. And so, this “wild” meat became part of the African diet, prized for its flavour and nutritional value," reports th restaurant group.
Furthermore, crocodile meat is high in protein and omega-3 fatty acids and low in fat, making it an ideal lean meat choice for those who want to eat well.
Check out some of the comments from the video below.
