Driver gets caught by SAPS while trying to avoid traffic
Updated | By Jacaranda FM/Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
This is the exact definition of being stuck between a rock and a hard place...

Not everyone follows the rules of the road. Some motorists treat the rules of the road as suggestions and assume they apply to everyone else.
A video shared on social media shows an example of a driver who thinks that rules are optional. The driver of a blue Citi Golf, who thought they could beat the traffic by driving on the opposite side of the road, was sorely mistaken when he was stopped in his tracks.
As the driver and his passenger are making their way in the opposite lane, he's stopped by a policeman who was driving in the same lane. The man is forced to reverse back to the start of the intersection when the officer gets out of his vehicle and approaches the two occupants.
We usually see this sort of behaviour from taxis in South Africa, but it seems motorists are becoming more ballsy in their attempt of to avoid traffic.

Fellow South Africans were less than forgiving in the comments section.
One person said, "Don't give people ticket fines anymore. Take the cars off and give them bicycles."
Another said, "Confiscate net die kar....tot die persoon sy licence oor gaan doen."
"Waas dit? Welcome to SA."
It's like some motorists think they are above their fellow drivers.
