Funerals were once viewed as dark and gloomy occasions, but the narrative has shifted – many have now evolved into fancy soirees.

It's not the first time we have seen people turn funerals into bespoke events. We remember the story about a common tradition in Ghana and other African countries where people create bespoke coffins for their loved ones based on what they do for a living or their likes and interests. In one instance, a taxi driver was propped up in his casket, which looked like a taxi.

Funerals are in the spotlight for being too flashy and glamorous. It extends beyond personalised caskets and moves into the actual funeral proceedings, from the venue to the upscale decor, some funerals have become exclusive events.

Many people have shared their distaste for the over-the-top, flashy funerals they have been seeing online, but this is a family's right at the end of the day.

Some families believe that a perfect send-off means pulling out all the stops. They don't want to stop at ordinary or straightforward, but want to make it grand. This could be for the family, their way of dealing with the loss, or something that their loved one requested, a grand and dignified farewell.

Either way, funerals have become fancier than some weddings and from the looks of it, these elegantly decorated funerals come with a flashy price tag.
