In life, there are many ways of getting someone's attention. Some people wave, some scream and shout, but you get tongue-tied when it comes to your crush or someone you like.

For peacocks, there's no such thing as getting tongue-tied.

National Geographic describes peacocks as "large, colourful pheasants (typically blue and green) known for their iridescent tails.

The large train is used in mating rituals and courtship displays. It can be arched into a magnificent fan that reaches across the bird's back and touches the ground on either side. Females are believed to choose their mates according to the size, colour, and quality of these outrageous feather trains".

A video shared on social media shows a peacock trying to win a peahen's heart but dismally failing.

To us, the peacock was bringing his A game, but the peahen was not impressed by his spectacle. Each time she tried to move away from his elaborate acts of courtship, he returned with a more elaborate move.

The video amused people, and judging by the comments, many women could relate:

  • "So the women of the animal kingdom experience the same things we do…"
  • "She knows a love bomber when she sees one."
  • "Footage of another male who can’t take a hint."
  • "Okay, you don’t like that move, what about THIS ONE?!” Does the same move 5 more times."
  • "Sir, can you move? I'm trying to watch the humans!"
