POV: Are remote tech jobs too cushy versus real-world jobs?
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Each to their own?

A recent video on TikTok has sparked a conversation online about tech jobs being cushy.
As much as we cannot say this with complete conviction, we know that there has been a perception that tech jobs are easier than other client or customer facing jobs.
But as much as we can engage in this stereotype, both remote work and on-site work come with their own respective lists of pros and cons.
In this case it was a tech guy who brought his 'cushy' job into the firing line. In a sense, feeding into the stereotype.
TikToker Aaroh Mankad (@seattletechbro) posted a video on his page showing himself going under the covers after working six hours.
The overlay text reads: "Me after 6 hours of working my cushy tech job where I changed a button from blue to a slightly different blue. I also reimbursed coffee, lunch, Wi-Fi, my gym membership, and my wework pass,” the TikToker captioned the video. “Tech is so hard omg [crying emoji].” (TikTok)

His post got a lot of attention from people saying that they are in the wrong industry.

Many people also shared how they too are part of the tech industry. Whilst one person said that this is what the poster will be doing once his employer sees the above video.
iPhone user: "You after you get fired bc ur boss sees this"
In response to the people saying it's easy to be in the world of tech.
One user said: "Yes but that change might have sold millions more in hair transplants or whatever's being advertised these days."
blue_saphyre: "Not me seeing this after working in a school for 8 hrs without a bathroom break or lunch break today🥲"
