Silicone finger and toe trend divides the internet
Updated | By Jacaranda FM / Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
This is not only freaky, but super weird and scary to think that people actually have an option of hiding their real fingers and toes.

A new and unusual social media trend can be described as the 'catfishing of fingers and toes'.
It sounds as weird as it is.
The video shows a woman taking a silicone cap shaped like toes and fingers and placing it over her actual toes and fingers. It looks like something out of a movie that uses prosthetics to disguise a person or add features to their faces or bodies. Think Mrs. Doubtfire or Big Momma...
We can think of a few reasons why anyone would want to cover up their real fingers and toes.

The video was reshared many times, and one option for using these toe caps was for girls who wanted to show their toes off during Summer but didn't get their toes pedicured.
While most ladies would call this a fair point, the fact that these 'reborn fingers and toes' have more than a hint of creepy attached to them leaves us opting for unpedicured toes.

Social media users shared their thoughts in the comments section:
One user said: "This is a great budget option! I usually just hire a stunt double to go on vacation for me."
"I’m gonna lose my mind when I find one of these in a pool," another said.
"Why is this happening on my algorithm."
"No words can describe how uncomfortable this made me feel."
