SA named Africa's most beautiful country
There's nothing like hearing others recognise your country's beauty...
It's Madiba month, a time that reminds us of what Nelson Mandela stood for and encourages us to do better with our country people.
While we are all here to celebrate our wins, we should also be present and willing to acknowledge the parts of our country that need some TLC. It is with great pride that we hear about travel site, Rough Guides, naming South Africa as Africa's most beautiful country.
South Africa is known for its beautiful beaches and landscapes, but we also have a rich culture that is both diverse and interesting. Not to mention our soulful cuisine, abundant wildlife and charismatic people.
Earlier this year, Buzzfeed voted South Africa the most beautiful country in the world.
"What is most interesting to us about this accolade is the fact that the reasoning for South Africa being the 'most beautiful status' includes almost all our main Wilderness areas: iSimangaliso Wetland Park, the Drakensberg, Hluhluwe-Umfolozi. They all get an honourable mention.
The value of wilderness for tourism is clear, the need to protect it is undeniable. Sometimes, living in South Africa, we easily forget how special our home is, and it's great to see it from an outside perspective," reports SA Good News.
