The dangers of speeding aren't just to your safety but to the safety of animals, too.

We recently reported on the dangers of driving at night, especially during winter, which can pose an added risk to motorists and, in some cases, animals.

An example of this was when a woman, while driving at night accidentally entrapped an owl inside the bonnet of her car.

In the video, a petrol attendant stands close to an open car bonnet. Surprisingly, an owl wiggles its way out from the bonnet, sits upright and stares at the driver, who is insanely apologetic.

She wrote, "Accidentally hit an owl with my car. At high speed, he somehow ended up inside the car. This is me apologising."

People came to the comments with their humorous outlook. One person wrote, "The look is giving “Ek (sal) met jou later praat Susan.”

"The owl looked at her like, 'learn how to drive, woman'."

"He looked at u like daaaamn lady, u nearly took my life."

Thankfully, the owl didn't seem hurt.

Another content creator on TikTok shared her shock and horror after watching the video and questioned the speed at which Mitchell was driving.

@itsme_siobhan #stitch with @melissamitchell300i would also be apologising to the owl, you're not alone 😂🫣 #owl #funny #fyp #viral #foryou #mistakes ♬ original sound - melissamitchell300
