Woman pays R200 for a drink that has large block of ice

R200 for a drink that mostly has ice, would you call this an experience or a rip-off?

In this economy, visiting a restaurant without checking the menu online is not advisable.
You'll need to use the internet to help you in this case. After all, you don't want to be stuck with a bill exceeding your bank account savings.
A woman who failed to do this fell into the trap of ordering a drink that perhaps sounded nicer than it looked. Bianca Meyer shared a video on TikTok showing what her R200 drink looked like.
She showed us how the drink had the hue of a grape juice with a large ice block inside. Whether the ice block was something added to the drinking experience or was just for aesthetics, we are unsure.
What was interesting to note was that the drinks menu was highly detailed with in-depth descriptions and fun notes on the flavours. Have a look at the drinks menu here.

The Cape Town restaurant paid attention to detail when explaining their bartending service, sharing the in-depth research, effort, and pride they take when crafting a drink.
According to their website: "Our cocktails are created in our unique BARTERROIR style. This is the influence of the soil, geography and climate on our local ingredients and the collaboration of the people that live here and our four pillars that inspire us – Oceans, mountains, fynbos & vineyards."
From the looks of it, the experience drives the price. However, taste is a subjective experience, so while you could be advised to order a drink that might suit your taste buds, you may not always enjoy it.
We are uncertain how the drink tasted, as Meyer didn't mention that in her video. But we hope it is favourable for the majority who can spend R200 on one drink.
