Language has long been something that has caused a divide of sorts.
But it is certainly something that can unite people. The differences are in fact the same, an oxymoron of sorts.
And one South African woman decided to show us how the difference between SA English and American English can be humourous.
In a video shared on her TikTok page, Lauren, a South African woman, is in what looks like a supermarket with her American boyfriend.
To indicate the difference between American and South African English, she asked her boyfriend to throw her plastic cup in the 'bin' and meet her at the 'till'.

Funnily enough, many people thought that the woman was American and her boyfriend was the South African.
Regardless, we thought it was quite funny to see his response to her.
