Emile Ratelband, 65, says that he "identifies as" a 45-year-old, and should be allowed to present himself as such when looking for matches on Tinder.

Ratelband says that he feels 20 years younger and his doctors have confirmed it, therefore he should be allowed to legally change his age to reflect this. He has gone to court in Arnhem in the Netherlands citing discrimination based on his age: "When I’m 69, I am limited. If I’m 49, then I can buy a new house, drive a different car. I can take up more work."

Ratelband went on to say that if transgender people are allowed to legally change their names and their sex on their identity documents, he should be able to as well. Of his dating prospects, he says: "When I'm on Tinder and it says I'm 69, I don't get an answer. When I'm 49, with the face I have, I will be in a luxurious position."

Ratelband is a television personality and motivational speaker known for his irreverence.

The court is expected to rule on his case within the next four weeks. If he were to win the case, Ratelband said he would give up his pension.

Do you think people should be allowed to legally change their age to avoid discrimination?
