If you are a consistent lottery player then you will know that it is not cool to play with someone's lottery-winning numbers.

It is a serious affair and many people who play the lottery believe in their numbers.

So to hear about an American lottery company, Mega Millions, that recently made a big blunder with the announcement of the winning lottery numbers is mind-boggling.

"The official announcer of the Mega Millions results made a costly mistake – announcing the wrong number during a drawing last week. He read the wrong number on air, calling a ‘6’ instead of a ‘9’." (MSN)

The Mega Millions officials requested ticket holders to hold off claiming their winnings until the issue was resolved.

The jackpot was for a mighty $86-million, and luckily no winners have come forward. Can you imagine trying to explain to someone that they are in fact not a winner?!

In a brief statement the company said: "The New York Lottery is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The Lottery has temporarily suspended prize payments for all Mega Millions tickets and all Mega Millions players should hold their tickets for the May 10, 2022 drawing until the issue is resolved."
