These hacks will help motivate your child to keep their things clean and organised.

As the end of the school holiday approaches, it's time for the kids to get back into their rhythm.
When reflecting on your mid-year goals, one big thing to consider is how to prepare your kids to be more organised in caring for themselves and their spaces. This should be a priority as a parent, as we sometimes confuse caring for our kids with enabling them instead of empowering them.
As you prepare to get the kids back on track before they return to school, here are some organisational hacks that will help them take ownership of their things and save you time in the morning.
1. Plan for the week
Get your kids involved in sorting out and organising their school uniforms for the week. You can label their room shelves or get them a hanging shelf organiser and label each day so they can place their clothes, underwear, socks, face towel, etc., into each compartment.
2. Meal planning
A great way to teach your kids to take ownership of their school week is to involve them in the lunch planning. This helps them be more mindful about what they eat and gives them a sense of responsibility. There's something special in eating what you made for yourself.

3. Get a school drawer
Allocate a drawer in your kitchen or common area to house spare stationery, hair accessories, snacks and more. Keep this your emergency go-to drawer, so if you rush out in the morning and something happens, you have one place that houses all your backups.
