'Bluey' parenting moment teaches kids that moms just needs 20 minutes

Yes, yes, we all know that some of us use Chilli and Bandit as our parenting role models, but what's wrong with that...

We would never judge anyone who chose to use Chilli and Bandit Heeler as their parenting role models.
The hit Australian cartoon Bluey has long been described as the kids' show that also caters to parents. It plays out real-life scenarios that most parents can relate to and helps them navigate parenthood with some grace, understanding and lots of humour.
A report by the Today Show revealed how kids are paying more attention to key moments on the show than we might think.
The understanding comes from a clip from the show in which Bluey's mom, Chilli, asks dad, Bandit, for 20 minutes by herself. Check it out below, courtesy of YouTube.

The episode normalises taking time for yourself as a parent. Kids watching the show are paying attention to these finer details, which was made evident on the Today Show.
A mother recorded her son talking about what he learnt from Bluey.
"That it's hard for moms to teach kids. So, sometimes moms just need 20 minutes," he says.

People agreed that it should be normalised for parents to take some time for themselves or to "decompress".
Check out some of the comments from parents.
- "Bluey is a show for adults."
- "Bluey Indeed teaches good things to both kids and parents. There is this one scene where Bluey teaches Bingo to collect all the upset and anger from shoulder, neck and head and throw far far off in ocean to feel good. Bandit copies the same once they leave the place to race. This was so so so well written."
- "It's not a kids' show. is (sic)a family show."
- "I saw another episode where one of the moms tells the other mom that she’s doing OK. It was obviously for the moms watching."
- "Bluey is fantastic, it teaches kids but also teaches parents. It covers all the main theories in child behavioural cognitive development, so interesting!"
- "Hard disagree. We watch Bluey everyday and my daughter shows me the same level of understanding that muffin shows her parents."
