Boundary song for kids that focuses on personal space

One of the most vital lessons you can teach your child is how to practice healthy boundaries with others.

Moving away from invasive cultural practices can be challenging, especially when raising respectful kids confident in protecting their personal space.
Creating healthy boundaries as an adult can be challenging and uncomfortable, so can you imagine what that might feel like for a kid who feels shy about advocating for themselves?
One key aspect of learning and teaching about personal space is being able to say 'no.' Apart from the personal safety and security (good touch and bad touch) that creating healthy boundaries teaches, there are several other benefits.
Check out the video below from YouTube that teaches about body safety and healthy boundaries.
It promotes emotional intelligence, helping kids navigate emotional settings. They learn about building healthy relationships when they understand and learn about personal space.
Children who understand boundaries are less likely to engage in bullying or get bullied. Learning about boundaries also helps kids understand consent from a young age, aiding in their ability to handle social interactions that demand differentiation between what's okay and what's not.
Teaching our children about boundaries is one of the most important gifts we can give them. Our kids should absolutely not be forced to hug, kiss, or show affection to anyone they don’t want to - whether that’s a family member or not. I know in our Kenyan culture this can sometimes be seen as rude, but our children’s safety and comfort will always be more important than someone’s feelings. That’s their issue to work through, not our children’s burden to bear.- Tatiana
