Despite the tragedy and hardships that COVID-19 presented, we still find people entirely oblivious to hygiene, in particular hand hygiene.

A video shared on social media shows Royal Caribbean workers standing close to a wash basin, singing an interesting song. The song has the beat from Ciara's '1,2 Step', but the lyrics say, "Let me see you wash your hands, let me see you wash your hands, wash, wash, wash your hands..."

The two employees are wearing sashes that read "Washy Washy", and they seem to be ambassadors encouraging guests to wash their hands.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified critical moments for household handwashing: before, during, and after preparing food; before eating; after using the toilet; after changing a diaper or cleaning up a child who has used the toilet; after blowing one's nose or coughing; after touching animals or animal waste; and after touching garbage?

During the pandemic, many people and organisations moved around with sanitiser and diligently washed their hands. But that habit has since dropped for many.

This video shows how practising good hygiene is integral even during leisure time.

Many social media users were impressed by this and shared their excitement.

Others shared how they believe that more adults need to watch this because they fail to follow the basic practice of washing their hands.

"Wait is this someone’s JOB???? Because I need to change careers asap."

"As a female who washes her hands, I can’t tell you how often I see other women just walk out of the public restroom stall, check themselves in the mirror, and walk right out!!"

"Neurovirus is very real on cruise ships. So you better wash your hands."

"We need these in public restrooms, and I volunteer as tribute."

"This might be annoying to some, but I see way too many adults not washing their hands these days."

Watch the video below from YouTube that shows how to wash your hands, posted by the World Health Organization.
