It is inspiring to see people wanting to change their history by doing something kind for someone else.

For KwaZulu-Natal couple Natalie Anne Pillay and Kaylin Vadiveloo, making a student's matric dance special was a way to spread kindness.

This pair came from humble beginnings and were both raised by single mothers. Pillay's parents divorced when she was just six-years-old, and Vadiveloo lost his father at a young age.

After watching a Facebook live screening of a local school's matric dance in their neighbourhood of Chatsworth, the two found themselves reminiscing about their childhood.

"A single mum raised me; my parents separated when I was six. We moved to Chatsworth in 2010, and my mum tried her best to give us a comfortable life. Unfortunately, we couldn't afford prom or debs in my senior year, nor did my school offer a debs or prom as it was in a low-class area," says Pillay.

The two wanted to add to someone's happy story by offering a complimentary chauffeur ride to a student who couldn't afford a memorable ride to their matric dance.

Vadiveloo, who works in fleet control, recently purchased a Gold 7.5 GTI and wanted to use his car to make someone feel special. The couple are offering any student attending their matric dance a chance at a free ride, provided the school dance they attend is in Chatsworth.

The reason for choosing a learner from Chatsworth is that they grew up in that community and want to pay it forward to the Chatsworth community.

Pillay shared that their offer is subject to availability and includes a free drop-off with a parent or guardian.

They will do their best to help a child based on their work schedules. Their offer is free of charge and is done purely out of goodwill.

They could not experience what many kids get to experience these days for their matric dances, and they want to help a kid from a similar background.
