Sometimes hope shows up in the most uncertain of circumstances.

It can be challenging to see the silver lining when you are overcome with stress and fear. Naturally, the weather has that effect on us these days.

But a KwaZulu-Natal woman reminded us there is always some light amidst the harsh, stormy weather. The windstorm in KZN on Monday, 9 June, left many people sharing their stories online. Some saw trees falling, others experienced damage to their roofs, and some schools and businesses were also affected.

It was scary for Vuyelwa Lamula to see her roof tiles shatter due to the heavy winds, but like most things in life, she chose to look at things from a different perspective.

Looking at the shattered tiles on the ground, she peered out at a beautiful rainbow that graced many people around KZN with its presence.

She was gifted with a pleasant rainbow sighting in a moment of fear. Rainbows are usually associated with hope, new beginnings, and, more so, after a storm.

Watch the video she shared on Instagram below.

We can't say that we will never see stormy weather again; that would be unrealistic, but we can appreciate her display of hope as a positive and inspiring note about the future.

After all, the world is what we make of it...

According to the South African Weather Services (SAWS), there are no current weather alerts, but Johannesburg can expect to experience more cold this week.
