McDonald's staff celebrate their graduate co-worker
Seeing people celebrate each other in the work environment is the best way to start the week.
The barriers to basic education in South Africa and Africa remain widespread, even in this day and age.
Many students who wish to further their education are often met with numerous challenges.
Therefore, it's a powerful win to see someone beat the odds, rise above their challenges, and reach graduation.
An example of this kind of determination is Siya, a young McDonald's employee who recently shared an inspiring video on social media. He was able to leave people all over Mzansi motivated with a simple video he shared to TikTok.
In the video, Siya walks into a McDonald's restaurant with his friends after his graduation ceremony. When he arrives, his co-workers greet him with jubilation as they see him all dressed in his graduation attire.
Watching his co-workers gather in front of the store, dancing and singing in his praise, was a grand indicator of the possibilities of finding people who will celebrate you regardless of your story.
According to the post, Siya has been working at McDonald's since 2019, while completing his three-year diploma. Balancing long shifts and his studies, Siya remained committed to his job and his education. His determination paid off when he proudly graduated - proof that hard work and perseverance is possible.
Siya's video left many people in tears. One person wrote: "Who's watching with tears rolling? Woah, what a beautiful moment. Congratulations, Siya."
Another person said: "Well done, sir. This is how it’s done. You can teach all our youngsters to stop complaining and go study."
"Congratulations, wow, I love your coworkers, how happy they were for you, we need more people like them, who support us, very proud of you."
