Three winter fruit hacks the kids will love
Updated | By The Workzone with Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp / Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
The orange hack has got to be the highlight of the three.

The winter blues are setting in fast, and increasing your fruit and vegetable intake is one of the best ways to ensure everyone in the home gets their dose of daily vitamins.
Oranges have long been known as the go-to fruit for vitamin C fruit, but many people find the pith a hassle to peel, plus the stringy fibres don't sit well with kids.
We found a hack for eating oranges that can be used for other citrus favourites as well, such as naartjie and clementine. Cut the orange in half and push the peel out as if popping the fruit segments out to get bite-sized pieces without the pith or fibres.
Check out the visual representation of this hack from TikTok. Many online users have been sharing their videos of this hack, but they are using naartjies and calling them oranges.

Pineapples are undervalued during this time of year, yet they are flu-fighting fruits with high levels of Vitamin C, supporting your immunity.
One of the biggest woes about this fruit is that you feel like you are losing so much. The peel is intrusive to the point where you feel like you are losing out.
The hack below is incredible. Not only does it provide an easy way to cut the pineapple with minimal wastage, but it is also a cute idea for serving pineapple.
Check out the video below from TikTok that shows two ways to cut a pineapple.

Everyone's familiar with the saying, 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away'; therefore, it only makes sense for us to include a hack about this much-loved fruit.
This hack is a lifesaver for fussy eaters who don't want to finish their apple slices because they have changed hues.
After cutting your apple into slices, soak them in a bowl of water and salt for 10 to 15 minutes.
Have a look at the video below from TikTok.
