As we scroll through social media these days, it seems inevitable that we will encounter an American who has decided to settle in South Africa

This time, an American woman, Kourtney Jade, and her family decided to immigrate to South Africa in 2024. She moved to Cape Town and recently visited KwaZulu-Natal, where she feels like she may have found their new home.

In another video, Jade said she decided to move to South Africa a few years ago after an unsettling conversation between her mother and brother.

Her mother asked her brother if he knew how to conduct himself if he were ever stopped by the police, and it got Jade thinking about her own two boys and how she would need to have that conversation with them one day.

She admits that the Mother City helped them transition well from the US.

But after visiting KZN, she thinks she might want to bring her family to the sunny province that experiences warm winter weather.

"I truly didn't think life could get better after Cape Town, but now I'm in KZN and having second thoughts. Cape Town was the perfect landing space for our family. It was a very soft and smooth transition from the US to Cape Town, but after being there for about a year and a half, I'm thinking we need to experience life out here. Just so y'all can see why I'm thinking about moving to KZN, it's winter, it is winter and your girl is out here wearing a crop top and a mini skirt," she said in her vidoe.

Other Americans living in KZN commented on her post and advised her where to look.

Many locals had varied outlooks. Some asked her not to contribute to inflation, others welcomed her into the family, and some were stuck on how she pronounced KZN.

She has since returned to Durban, this time without her kids, and has embarked on a search to find their next home.
