Emotional social experiment asks “Who will stop the bullying?”
Updated | By Minenhle Khoza
If you witnessed someone being bullied, would you intervene?
Most of us will be quick to answer yes, but we never truly know how we’d react to a situation until we are in it ourselves.
Bullying has become an epidemic all over the world, including in South Africa, and American channel UPTV set up a social experiment to test how people reacted when witnessing bullying taking place right in front of them.
The video, which captures the reactions of strangers as a girl is bullied by two older girls at a bus stop, has gone viral.
Social experiments often feature shocking results, but the reactions of the good Samaritans in this video show that not everyone looks the other way when they see wrong taking place in front of them.
UPTV created the social experiment with the three young actors to show that anyone can put a stop to bullying.
