South Africans upset after a picture of a cop with a shotgun on the beach trends

A police officer was photographed holding a large gun on a beach in Clifton during Minister Bheki Cele's visit.
A mother posted the picture on Twitter showing her 5-year-old son looking at an officer holding a large piece of ammunition with the bullets on full display.
Twitter users did not hold back their disapproval, stating that this is unnecessary and these law enforcement officers are needed in places where violent crimes take place daily. Other users shared pictures from other countries depicting similar scenarios.

What are your thoughts? Would you be okay with your child seeing live ammunition this close on a family outing?
If you go down to the beach today*, you’re in for a big surprise... that’s my 5 year old, bottom right 😱
