It's quite scary to see how everyday items have shot up in price!
If there is one thing we all know for sure, it's the fact that life has become extremely expensive to live!
Whether it be petrol, a loaf of bread, or clothing, the rising costs of everyday items is starting to take its toll.
While scrolling around the internet, Barney Simon stumbled upon an image dating all the way back to 1976. 'Merino Butchery's' price-list is a scary thing to look at. Yes, this may be from forty years ago, but it's very interesting to see how much certain food items used to cost.
Looking at the image, one can see that sirloin and T-bone steaks were just under R2 per kilogram. Crazy, right? Let's not even talk about the fact that you used to get half a sheep for a measly R12!
