Clever mother goose turns to police for help
Updated | By Poelano Malema
When her baby bird was caught in the string of a balloon, she thought of something very unusual… to get help from the Cincinnati police.
The policeman told reporters the bird kept pecking on his door, as if to alert him that something was wrong.
“It kept pecking and pecking and normally they don’t come near us. Then it walked away and then it stopped and looked back so I followed it and it led me right over to [a gosling] that was tangled up in all that string,” Sergeant James Givens told WKRC.
Givens and specialist Cecilia Charron reportedly called SPCA for help, but when no one was available, the two took it upon themselves to help the poor bird. Thankfully the bird was rescued.
In a video posted on YouTube, after being freed from the balloon, the bird can be seen running of to join her family members. The video has been seen over 1-million times, and Givens' balloon-cutting skills have been praised by many.
Brian Orenge commented on the video: "God bless your heart. Its so amazing how caring people can be..even to animals.you are beautiful people."
Recently, a video went viral showing a bird saving another bird with a kiss.
