Missing just one or two hours of sleep can put you at a high risk of causing an accident, a new study has found. The study, conducted by the American Automobile Association (AAA), also revealed another shocking result that sleeping two hours less than the required seven hours causes you to have the same abilities as a drunk driver, Metro reported.

"You cannot miss sleep and still expect to be able to safely function behind the wheel. Our new research shows that a driver who has slept for less than five hours has a crash risk comparable to someone driving drunk," Dr. David Yang, executive director for the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, told the publication.
