Trevor Noah slams Meryl Streep for anti-Donald Trump speech

During her acceptance speech for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Golden Globes on Sunday in Los Angeles, Meryl Streep delivered a moving speech that had a strong message against abuse of power.
Although many took to social media to praise the legendary actress for her speech, it seems not everyone was pleased. Daily Show host Trevor Noah took to his show on Monday evening to slam Streep, after she said: "Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. And if you kick ’em all out, you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts."

This part of the speech didn't tickle Trevor Noah's fancy, especially because he is a huge fan of football."I understand what Meryl Streep was trying to do, and I don't know if I could have done better, but here’s the thing I feel like we could all learn as people, you don’t have to make your point by sh*tting on someone else’s thing, because a lot of people love football and the arts," Noah said.
