Wild dogs take on cheetahs in epic standoff over kill
Updated | By Lee-Roy Wright
In a battle between cheetahs and wild dogs, who would ever have thought that the wild dogs would be victorious?!

The latest video posted to the YouTube channel 'Kruger Sightings' is one of a very rare standoff.
In the video, two cheetahs can be seen trying to fend off a pack of wild dogs, who are persistent in their quest to steal a wildebeest kill. One of the cheetahs stands its ground and continues to hiss and raise its fur in order to scare off the wild dogs.
This display of power carries on for some time before the cheetahs realise that they are fighting a losing battle. At least the cheetahs managed to eat some of their kill, as one can see that the carcass is not fully intact.
The video was shared by Grant Fendick, who was driving along the Black Rhino Concession in the Pilanesberg last month when he came across this spectacular, once-in-a-lifetime sighting.
