Ed Sheeran surprises seriously ill girl in hospital

Nine-year-old Melody Driscoll suffers from Rett Syndrome, among many other illnesses, and has spent 80% of her life in hospital, her Facebook page states.

But no matter how hard life might be for her, “she has an escape through her love of music. She adores music, and no matter what pain she is going through, her favourite singer - Ed Sheeran - can always get a smile from her," reads the page.

Earlier in October, Melody embarked on a mission to get Ed to come meet her. The post was shared by many, including the Croydon Police, who even started a campaign .
