Breakfast with Martin Bester presents: My Kid Rocks vocal round
There’s so much talent in South Africa and we cannot wait to announce the four vocal finalists!
Starting a band is an intimidating thought. You have no idea how to get the right talent on-board, which genre to choose, and how to make it big.
We have announced the drummer, bass guitarist, and guitarist, so all there is still to do is get a vocalist for the My Kid Rocks band!

There’s a twist!
Martin Bester is not going to announce one vocalist on Thursday morning, but rather four singers.
They will go into a round where they perform with the band members and showcase their talent!
UPDATE: Zehan was cut as a vocalist on 24 November 2020 and three finalists remain.
FINALIST 1:
Fifteen-year-old Lisa Combrink, known as Lisa Taylor, attends Helpmekaar College in Johannesburg. Her musical influences are Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.
FINALIST 3:
Fifteen-year-old Franco Cillie is from Affies. He loves listening to Ed Sheeran and Depeche Mode.
FINALIST 4:
Thirteen-year-old Layla Venter (AKA Layla V) is from Laerskool Impala in Kempton Park and loves local band Prime Circle and Seether.
