Martin Bester has a deep love for animals, and as an animal rights activist, he couldn’t pass the opportunity of giving another dog a forever home which is why the Breakfast show host loves this story!
Garden Route SPCA’s Salome Bruyns was taking in dogs that had been neutered back to their homes in George when a desperate Maliso Cordelia Ngoqo spoke to her and requested the SPCA take her “child” in because she could no longer care for her.

Garden Route SPCA says, “While we were busy taking Sterries home an elderly lady called us to surrender her dog, because she struggles financially. He didn't leave her side and grabbed on to her. My heart broke into a million pieces.”

Salome did good on her promise and went back to the area to fetch Maliso’s dog, “Whiskey” for a health check which included a vaccination, deworming, sterilisation and a treatment.
Salome thanked everyone who donated to help keep the dog with her loving owner.
