Home Affairs aims to ban cellphones at front desks

Have you ever been on your phone during working hours? Where else should cellphones be banned?

The Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs is calling for officials working front of house and interacting with clients to be banned from using their cellphones during working hours.
If you’ve ever visited a Home Affairs office, you know it won’t be a quick visit.
The committee says it has received numerous complaints from members of the public about delays at home affairs offices.

Due to the lengthy delays, Home Affairs is trying to curb the waiting period by aiming to ban cellphone use by officials.
