South Africa has more than 37,000 millionaires, but how many of them live in your area? Find out below!
When it comes to the wealthiest countries in Africa, South Africa easily tops the list in terms of resident high-net-worth individuals, as well as having the most millionaires and centi-millionaires on the continent.
Africa's 'Big 5' wealth markets - South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, and Morocco - account for 56% of Africa's high-net-worth individuals and over 90% of the continent’s billionaires, with Egypt taking the top spot with the most billionaires.

According to the Africa Wealth Report 2023 by New World Health, South Africa might not have the highest number of billionaires.
Still, it has a notably high number of millionaires (37,800) and centi-millionaires (98).
According to wealth and investment migration advisors Henley & Partners, 'centi-millionaires' refers to individuals with an investable wealth of $100-million or more.
It would come as no shock that South African cities also dominate the list of Africa’s Top 10 wealthiest cities by the number of resident millionaires.
Being the most affluent city in Africa, Johannesburg boasts 14,600 millionaires, 30 centi-millionaires, and two billionaires.
Cape Town came in third place with 7,200 millionaires, 26 centi-millionaires, and one billionaire.
Durban ranks sixth on the list, with 3,600 millionaires and ten centi-millionaires.

Finally, Pretoria ranked eighth with 2,400 millionaires and two centi-millionaires.
According to the list, both Durban and Pretoria don’t have any billionaires.
