Jacaranda FM listeners donate R5,000,000 towards aid in the western Free State
Jacaranda FM listeners astonished all of us with their overwhelming generosity towards fire ravaged farming communities.
BACKGROUND: At least 100-thousand hectares of grazing, crops, and farm infrastructure were destroyed in five fires in October. Former Springbok lock Bakkies Botha appealed to Jacaranda FM listeners to support these communities and his mission to take much needed feed and assistance to the western Free State. Botha joined Breakfast with Martin Bester on Wednesday morning. Gys Olivier, Chairman of the Hertzogville Farmers Union, affiliated to Agri Free State joined the conversation.
SPONSORING: André Erasmus rallied his friends and collected R945,000 to add to the total of R4,055,000 raised. That means R5-million has been raised in total!
