Johannesburg: Most expensive destination in South Africa

Johannesburg has been named as the most expensive destination in South Africa.

A recent article from Traveller24 states that Johannesburg is the most expensive destination to visit in South Africa - even more expensive than Cape Town. 

Transport comparison website Hoppa processed numbers on which destination is the cheapest and most expensive to visit by looking at hotel stays, taxi fares, and meals for two people.

The most expensive destination in the world is Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands. On average you'd spend about R8,500 a day!

The cheapest destination spot was taken by Antalya in Turkey. A day here will cost you on average R1,180.

Johannesburg, the City Of Gold, was ranked 60th on the list of the most expensive destinations - which makes the city the most expensive destination in South Africa.

Cape Town was ranked 81st on the list.
