The South African Advertising Regulatory Board (ARB) has banned an ad for Windhoek Lager deemed to promote toxic masculinity, as it suggests that only “real men” drink beer.

Gerard Butler can be seen enjoying a beer at the bar. Butler then objects to a customer asking for a slice of lime with his Windhoek.

Butler says: “It’s 100 per cent beer. You don’t need any lime.”

Ad makers suggested “real” men, like Butler, drink real beer.

Do you think it incites toxic masculinity?
