A Pretoria woman was declared 'dead' in 2017 by Home Affairs - despite still being alive and well.
Home affairs offices are far from being fun places to visit, and we've all heard of at least one bad experience.
However, a woman from Onderstepoort in Pretoria experienced Home Affairs like no other.
Renthia van Rensburg (49) was declared dead by the Home Affairs database in 2017.
After she resigned as a teacher, her bank informed her that her personal bank account had been frozen.
"I had no money and we couldn't pay the bills," she told Martin Bester.

Her husband also went through a tough time. Data systems declared him as a widower.
"My husband is still a widower, and we must get re-married again if we want to change his status to married," she mentioned.
Thankfully, Home Affairs has no rectified the error, but the admin involved for the van Rensburgs has been an absolute nightmare.
What a crazy story! What is the strangest thing you have experienced at Home Affairs? Let Martin know below.
